Hey friends! Happy Friday! I'm so glad it's almost the weekend. My chihuahua Roxy had a pretty big knee surgery to fix a luxated patella and CCL damage (basically, her knee cap was out of place and wouldn't go back in, and she did some damage to the doggie equivalent of the ACL) It's been a little bit of a rough week waiting for her surgery be done, and for her to come home, but now we're on the (long) road to recovery!
But, in other exciting news, the fabulous ladies of the Sweet Moda Blog Group have our first post to share, and this month we're styling glass jars!

Here's what you'll need:
- empty glass jar
- spray paint (I chose flat white and metallic gold)
- faux florals (I used this for the flower)
For perspective, here's where I started:
Yes, this is a repurposed jar! One thing I love is not having to buy extra supplies for projects, and this jar has a super cute "MASON" detail on it that I couldn't pass up! The first thing I did was grabbed my trusty spray paint and painted it a flat white
Then, I grabbed shiny gold spray paint to create an ombre. If you've never done it before I highly recommend a test run on a jar you're not worried about messing up. I found a few different tutorials online of how to create the ombre, but what worked best for me was short light strokes moving away from the jar as you go lower to get the ombre look. The shiny gold paint is very liquid-y (highly technical term, I know) and it was easy to get drips/runs so I do mean very light strokes. Here's how it came out:
And check out the MASON detail at the top:
So cute, right? I'm definitely going to be saving a few more of these jars for projects! (Darn, better eat more chips and salsa...and I'm gonna need a margarita when the weather gets warmer too!)
Ok, and now for the fun part. Styling it! I decided to keep it really simple
Would you believe these florals are from Walmart? They have really upped their faux floral game! The greenery was $0.97 and I actually cut it down and only used a few pieces for this so I have plenty left! The pink dahlia cost $2. The sign came from the Target Bullseye's Playground section and I just love it
