Hey everyone! I'm back with another blog hop with Jackie from Jackie Can't Blog and Ashlee from Sweet Southern Oaks! This time our theme is thrifted/yard sale finds, and I'm sharing how I gave these bedside tables a facelift!

Unfortunately, living in Vegas we didn't have a lot in the way of good yard sale finds, but the Facebook marketplace can be a gold mine if you keep an eye on it (check out this post to see how I used it to update my back yard for under $150!)
My previous night stands were old, wobbly, made of particle board and dark, and didn't quite fit as my decor moved towards lighter colors. I sold them on Facebook marketplace then started watching for something to catch my eye. Not long after, these popped up! Here they are in all their glory:
First things first, they needed to be cleaned
Then I decided I was going to paint them grey and white to match the bedroom. This is also where I started failing at taking pictures (oops!) I decided on chalk paint for them, and so the first step was a spray shellac to prevent any bleed through from previous finishes on my white paint. I ended up with 3 coats of white paint total because after the first coat I was still getting bleed through and had to spray it with the shellac again (I use this one). I painted the tops grey to keep it simple
And this is what they look like finished! They fit in perfectly with my master bedroom decor now. The only disadvantage to these was that we no longer had drawers to keep all that random stuff you keep in your bedside table. But I was in Michael's and they were having a sale, plus I had a coupon, and I snagged the baskets under them for extra storage!

Now let's see what Ashlee and Jackie are up to! Ashlee went pickin' at the World's Longest Yard Sale. How cool is that? And did you know Jackie runs her own thrift Etsy shop? You can find it here! She's got such cool finds!
Thanks for hanging out with me!
