Dollar Store DIY - Watermarble Glasses

I've wanted to do this project for so long, and finally had a chance to give it a try! Spoiler: this is probably one of the easiest DIYs ever

This month's blog hop with my friends is all about dollar store DIYS. I love wandering the dollar store to see what fun ideas I can come up with!

Here's what you'll need:

glasses of your choice

lemon oil (or whatever product you use to remove sticker residue)

rubbing alcohol

nail polish

a disposable or "project" bucket that you don't mind getting polish on

dishwasher-safe mod podge (optional, but if you don't use it these will be hand wash only)

This project cost me $4, since all I had to buy was the glasses. I went to the Dollar Tree to get them, they usually have a good selection of glassware!

First step is to remove the stickers and any residue left behind. I used a couple drops of lemon essential oil and they came right off

I used rubbing alcohol to clean any leftover lemon oil off, and to wipe down the sides of the glasses. This works best with a clean surface for the polish to adhere to

Next, I poured some polish into a bowl of water. The bowl should be big enough to dip the cup in and move the glass. As mentioned before, use a disposable bowl or one you use for projects. The polish did get stuck to the sides/bottom while I was doing this! I used a toothpick to swirl it around into a pattern I liked, and then dipped and rolled the glass through the polish

I let them dry overnight and then applied mod podge to protect them (and make them dishwasher safe. I don't know about you, but my husband hates when things can't go in the dishwasher)

I was hoping to get a nice sunny day to take pictures of these but the Florida weather was not cooperating with me this week! I do love how these came out though, and I'm excited to use them out by the pool!

Let's check out what the other ladies are up to!

Ashlee made a super pretty boho farmhouse wreath. I love the greenery that she found for it!

Jessica also made a gorgeous wreath, and all I can say is don't sleep on those dollar store florals! They're great bang for your buck!

Jackie upcycled some dollar store toadstools and they're an adorable addition to her fairy garden!

I hope you found some inspiration for your next trip to the dollar store! Let me know in the comments what you're making next!
